Fast-growing AI healthcare startup is hiring a Founding Data Scientist.
Seeking a true “player-coach” , offering the opportunity to shape the data science function from the ground up while remaining hands-on in analytics, modeling, and product collaboration.
What You’ll Do
• Establish the data function: build systems, tools, best practices, and a long-term data strategy
• Hands-on analytics and modeling: develop predictive and optimization models, perform ad hoc analyses, and prototype ML applications
• Collaborate across teams: work closely with product, engineering, and clinical leaders to uncover trends, inform features, and drive measurable outcomes
• Client-facing insights: analyze healthcare data, create dashboards, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
• Leadership growth: act as a “player-coach,” mentoring future data hires as the team expands
What We’re Looking For
• 8+ years in data science or advanced analytics
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with healthcare datasets (claims, EMR/EHR,
• Strong statistical modeling and ML knowledge (scikit-learn, StatsModels, PyTorch)
• Comfortable with ambiguity, able to own end-to-end data initiatives, and influence product/clinical decisions
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional and external stakeholder engagement
